Indoor air pollutants can be harmful to your health, and unfortunately, they are often invisible to the naked eye. It's important be aware of what you're breathing in and take steps to improve the air quality in your home. Don't wait until it's too late to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Air Quality In Your Home

Viruses

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought to light the fact that viruses can be transmitted through the air. Some infections can be spread by exposure to virus in small droplets and particles that can linger in the air for minutes to hours. These viruses may be able to infect people who are further than 6 feet away from the person who is infected or after that person has left the space. This kind of spread is referred to as airborne transmission and is an important way that infections like tuberculosis, measles, and chicken pox are spread.

Formaldehyde

Formaldehyde is an important chemical used widely by industry to manufacture building materials and numerous household products. It is also a by-product of combustion and certain other natural processes. Thus, it may be present in substantial concentrations both indoors and outdoors.

Formaldehyde can cause irritation of the skin, eyes, nose and throat. High levels of exposure may cause some types of cancers.

Volatile Organic Compounds

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. VOCs include a variety of chemicals, some of which may have short- and long-term adverse health effects. Concentrations of many VOCs are consistently higher indoors (up to ten times higher) than outdoors. VOCs are emitted by a wide array of products numbering in the thousands.

Organic chemicals are widely used as ingredients in household products. Paints, varnishes and wax all contain organic solvents, as do many cleaning, disinfecting, cosmetic, degreasing and hobby products. Fuels are made up of organic chemicals. All of these products can release organic compounds while you are using them, and, to some degree, when they are stored.

Mold

Molds produce allergens (substances that can cause allergic reactions) and irritants. Inhaling or touching mold or mold spores may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. Allergic responses include hay fever-type symptoms, such as sneezing, runny nose, red eyes, and skin rash. Molds can can also trigger asthma episodes in sensitive individuals with asthma.

Pesticides

Pesticides are chemicals that are used to kill or control pests which include bacteria, fungi and other organisms, in addition to insects and rodents. Pesticides are inherently toxic.

Products used most often are insecticides and disinfectants. Studies have suggested that 80 percent of most people's exposure to pesticides occurs indoors and that measurable levels of up to a dozen pesticides have been found in the air inside homes.

The amount of pesticides found in homes appears to be greater than can be explained by recent pesticide use in those households; other possible sources include:

  • contaminated soil or dust that floats or is tracked in from outside

  • stored pesticide containers

  • household surfaces that collect and then release the pesticides

Particulate Matter

Particulate matter (also referred to as PM or particle pollution) is a complex mixture of solid and/or liquid particles suspended in air. These particles can vary in size, shape and composition. It is especially concerning when particles are 10 micrometers in diameter or smaller because these particles are inhalable. Once inhaled, particles can affect the heart and lungs and in some cases cause serious health effects.

Air Quality

Allergen Control

Removal Of Air Borne Polutants

For many people, indoor allergens can cause discomfort and allergic reactions. Common allergens include dust mites, pollen, pet dander, and mold particles. To alleviate symptoms, it's important to implement effective air quality solutions that can help reduce the presence of allergens in your home or workplace.

Indoor air quality is crucial for a healthy living environment. Pollutants like VOCs, formaldehyde, chemicals, and odors can negatively impact air quality and health. Our professional air filtration and purification process can remove these contaminants and improve air quality.

Odor Elimination

Indoor odors can pose a challenge to maintaining a pleasant environment. To enhance air quality, it is essential to eliminate these odors and create a clean atmosphere. Our filtration services can help eliminate these odors from your home so that you and your family can breathe easier.
